LifeScan Scotland, based in Inverness, became part of the Johnson & Johnson Group in 2001 when they acquired the assets of Inverness Medical Ltd. – a medical device company established in 1995 to design and manufacture glucose test strips, and design electronic meters for the global diabetes market.

Today, LifeScan is a world leader in blood glucose monitoring. Globally, more than 20 million people depend on the company’s OneTouch® brand products to help them manage their diabetes. The 340,000 square foot state-of-the-art manufacturing and distribution facility in Inverness, employees more than 2,000 employees. LifeScan serves more than 90 countries.

On-site training programme

From MCP’s extensive training portfolio, Lifescan selected the dedicated on-site training option for their technicians and operators – this held at Lifescans facility in Inverness.

MCP is the preferred partner/supplier to LifeScan for the dedicated Technical Operator Training programme – selected because it supports the development of operator and technicians knowledge to provide a range of skills and techniques to those directly working on production activities.

The successful completion of the Technical Operator Training allows low-risk, high-frequency maintenance activities to be undertaken safely by technicians and operators.

This first cohort was attended by 8 delegates which forms part of a wider programme.
